Why Margio

Profit on a dashboard is a theory. Money in your bank is a fact.

Accounting software tells you about last quarter. Margio tells you whether today was profitable, down to the dollar your bank received.

From revenue to true profit, one honest waterfall

Revenue minus cost of goods, fees, refunds, ad spend, and taxes. Margio shows exactly where the money went this period, ending on the number that matters, each step labelled with its share of revenue.

The Gap

Shopify says you made it. Your bank says you received it. Margio shows the gap between the two, every day. Hidden fees, delayed payouts, and currency losses, all exposed.

The Gap component comparing order implied profit against bank settled profit

Every day, not every quarter

Revenue and true profit on one daily line. The space between them is your daily cost, so a soft week shows up now, not at tax time.

Daily trend of revenue against true profit over thirty days

Every number carries its context

Gross revenue, margins, fees and refunds, each shown with its share of revenue and how it moved against the prior period. A number you cannot interpret is just decoration.

An analyst that has actually read your numbers

Ask generic AI about your margins and it guesses. Ask Margio and it answers, because it works from your real revenue, your real costs, your real margins. It is read only, works from summaries rather than your raw bank feed, and one switch in Settings turns it off completely.

Questions

Answers before you ask

How does Margio verify my profit?

Margio matches your Shopify payouts against the deposits that actually land in your connected bank account, so every profit figure is confirmed by your bank rather than estimated.

Is my bank connection safe?

Yes. Margio uses read only access through Plaid, the same service used by Venmo and major banks. Your bank login never touches Margio, and Margio can see transactions but can never move money.

What is The Gap?

The Gap is the daily difference between what Shopify says you earned and what your bank actually received. It exposes hidden fees, delayed payouts and currency losses.

How much does Margio cost?

Margio has two plans: Starter at $19 per month for product and store intelligence, and Pro at $49 per month which adds the bank connection, bank verified true profit, cash flow, tax reports and accountant export. Both include unlimited orders and a 14 day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.

Can I share reports with my accountant?

Yes. Margio exports orders, products, the transaction ledger and a monthly profit and loss statement as CSV, plus printable reports you can save as PDF, in the format a bookkeeper expects.

Does Margio work with QuickBooks or Xero?

Not as a direct sync. Margio exports your orders, ledger and monthly profit and loss as CSV, which your accountant imports into QuickBooks, Xero or any other package. If you need automatic two way syncing, a dedicated accounting connector is the better tool.

Does Margio calculate contribution margin?

Yes. Contribution margin is revenue minus cost of goods, transaction fees and ad spend, shown on the dashboard for the period and broken down per SKU on the orders page, so you can see which products actually contribute after variable costs.

Does Margio track ad spend and ROAS?

Yes. Margio connects Meta and Google Ads and reports blended ROAS across all channels, plus your break even ROAS calculated from your real gross margin, so you can see the number ad spend has to beat before a sale makes money.

Does Margio handle sales tax, VAT and GST?

Margio reports the tax you actually collected through Shopify, broken down to match your country's return: US sales tax by state, UK VAT, and Canadian GST, HST, PST and QST. It organises what was collected for your accountant. It never asserts what you owe and does not give filing advice.
